Short Wars: A Star Wars fan film starring kids! Meet the Cast
Short Wars: A New Cast Meet the Cast Marrit

Youth and beauty unite to fill several varied and important casting needs

Marrit
Marrit was one of our production's youngest cast members, yet she filled several roles and brought a great presence to each. As a Jawa in pursuit of R2-D2, Marrit provided one of our film's first big laughs.

She followed this with a portrayal of a stormtrooper that has become one of the best-loved scenes from Short Wars. In the dramatic confrontation between Gov. Tarkin and Princess Leia, it is Marrit whose stormtrooper can be seen raising and pointing her blaster menacingly at several points during the scene. It is one of the unscripted moments that has brought the most laughter from audiences screening our short film.

When she wasn't winning us over as a stormtrooper with an attitude all her own, Marrit was busy filling some rather big shoes -- those of Chewbacca the Wookie.

Marrit served as Chewbacca's understudy, and when little Roslyn grew tired of the costume and left the stage, it was up to Marrit to don the furry costume and complete the scenes yet unshot.

In the Death Star control room Marrit took her first steps as Chewbacca, and we all loved it! Chewie is one of the most lovable characters in the film, thanks to Marrit and Roslyn.

Marrit fulfilled several key roles in Short Wars and in doing so gave audiences some of their favorite moments in a short film that gave us all a lot to remember -- and enjoy.
